20th Anniversary of the death of Herbert von Karajan
In quiet remembrance of Herbert von Karajan
July 16th 2009 marked the twentieth anniversary of the death of Herbert von Karajan. While in some places celebrations to commemorate the maestros 100th birthday last year are still going on, July 16th this year was consciously a time of quiet reflection. During a commemorative service in Salzburg Cathedral, Herbert von Karajan was remembered in a solemn high mass.
Furthermore, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Herbert von Karajans death, the British label Testament Records has issued previously unknown Karajan recordings. Further details here.
