The Eliette and Herbert von Karajan Institute is the central contact partner for all legal enquiries concerning Herbert von Karajan. Every new and re-issue of any kind of material (photos, audio and video recordings etc.) requires a licence from the Karajan Institute. According to the type of enquiry, licence management is divided into the following two areas:

 
 

1. Licence for the use of photos

 

To make it easier for clients to acquire the right to use photos, all enquiries concerning photos of Herbert von Karajan will be dealt with centrally via the Eliette and Herbert von Karajan Institute. For this purpose the Karajan Institute is cooperating with a number of photographers and photo agencies worldwide.

2. Award of rights for new and re-issues 

 

The Karajan Institute sees its core task in perpetuating the musical legacy of Herbert von Karajan by encouraging new and re-issues in the sphere of audio and video recordings. For questions concerning the utilization of the existing Karajan repertoire please make direct contact with the licence department of the Karajan Institute.
